Moroccan Tagines – March 2015

Tagines are traditional Moroccan pottery used for cooking and serving, and come in a variety of sizes from individual to sizes fit for a huge family feast. Some are plain earthenware, and some are highly decorated with vibrant colors and patterns. Wherever you purchase yours, before using it be sure to check if it can actually be heated, or if it’s only for serving and display. When they’re not being used, tagines look great on a shelf and make wonderful gifts.

Beauty is Power Exhibit – March 2015

I’m feeling so inspired by my recent visit to the exhibit Helena Rubinstein: Beauty is Power at the Jewish Museum in New York.  She sought to empower and beautify women through cosmetics in the early 20th Century, and became a business magnate and arts patron along the way. Check out her collection of portraits and some of her beautiful jewelry while learning about her fascinating life.
